DevOps and automated delivery
Automated builds, tests, security checks and deployments, so modernised applications can be released safely every week instead of nervously every quarter.
Modern code needs a modern way to ship it
Modernisation that stops at the code often disappoints in production. If releases are still manual, tests still run by hand and environments still drift, the new system inherits the old system's pace and its risks.
We build the delivery side alongside the application: pipelines, automated tests, infrastructure as code and GitOps, with security checks built in, so your team can release small changes often and roll back in minutes when it needs to.
When it fits
01
Releases need a war room
Every release is a weekend event with a long checklist, and nobody wants to do it often.
02
Testing is manual
Regression testing takes weeks, so changes are bundled into big, risky releases.
03
Environments differ
What passed in testing fails in production, because servers were built and patched by hand.
04
Audits ask who changed what
And the answer is spread across emails, tickets and spreadsheets.
What we do
CI/CD pipelines
GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or OpenShift Pipelines that build, test, scan and package every change.
Test automation
Unit, API, user-interface and performance tests in the pipeline, with characterisation tests that protect legacy behaviour.
Infrastructure as code
Terraform, Ansible and Kubernetes manifests in Git, so every environment is built the same way, every time.
GitOps deployment
Argo CD or OpenShift GitOps deploying from Git, with approvals, an audit trail and one-step rollback.
DevSecOps
Code, dependency, container and configuration scanning, secrets management and signed artefacts in every pipeline.
Observability and SRE
Metrics, logs and traces with Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry, plus service-level objectives and on-call runbooks.
Measuring progress
Four numbers that show delivery is improving
We measure delivery the way the DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) programme does. We take a baseline at the start and track the same four measures as the pipeline matures, so improvement is visible rather than claimed.
- Deployment frequency
- How often changes reach production. The bars should rise.
- Lead time for changes
- How long a change takes from commit to production. The line should fall.
- Change failure rate
- How often a release causes a problem. The red share should shrink.
- Time to restore
- How quickly service comes back after a failure. The clock arc should shrink.
How we improve delivery
01
Baseline
Measure how you deliver today: release frequency, lead time, failure rate and recovery time.
02
Build the pipeline
Set up source control, CI, an artefact registry and automated tests for a first application.
03
Automate environments
Codify infrastructure and deployments, and move releases to GitOps with approvals.
04
Scale and coach
Roll out to more teams with templates, coach engineers and track the measures as they improve.

Questions about DevOps
We already use GitLab. Do we need new tools?
Rarely. We prefer to get more from the tools you already own and add only what is missing.
How do we keep releases compliant?
Approvals, segregation of duties and a full audit trail are built into the pipeline and the Git history, which usually makes audits easier, not harder.
Does DevOps work for vendor applications?
Yes, for configuration, infrastructure and deployment, even where you can't change the code.
How is this different from your security services?
Here we build the delivery pipeline, and security checks are one stage of it. For runtime protection and platform security, see our cloud native security services.
