Kubernetes operations and support

Keep your Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms healthy, patched, upgraded and secure, with engineers who watch them, fix them and report on them, up to 24 hours a day.

Day two is where platforms succeed or fail

After go-live, a Kubernetes platform needs constant care. New versions arrive about three times a year. Security patches, certificate renewals, capacity, backups and the occasional incident all need someone who knows the platform well.

Our operations service gives you that team. We monitor your clusters, patch and upgrade them on a plan, respond to incidents and report on service levels every month. You choose how much we do, from expert help for your own platform team to fully managed operations.

When it fits

01

Your platform team is stretched

One or two people carry the platform and the on-call phone, with no time left for improvements.

02

Versions are falling behind

Clusters are close to, or past, the end of support, and nobody has time to plan the upgrade.

03

Incidents take too long

Users find problems first, and each one is investigated from scratch.

04

You need service levels you can prove

The business or the regulator expects agreed uptime, response times and regular reports.

What we do

Monitoring and alerting

Health, capacity and certificate monitoring, alerts routed to the right people, and dashboards your team can use.

Upgrades and patching

Rolling upgrades and security patches on an agreed schedule, tested in non-production first.

Incident response

Agreed response times, root-cause analysis and fixes, with escalation to the platform vendor when needed.

Capacity and cost

Right-size nodes and workloads, plan for growth, and find capacity that is paid for but idle.

Backup checks

Monitored backups and regular test restores, so recovery works on the day you need it.

Reports and reviews

Monthly service reports and quarterly reviews of risks, versions and improvements.

Upgrades without downtime

A rolling upgrade keeps services running

Nodes are upgraded one at a time. Each is drained first, its workloads move to the other nodes, and it rejoins on the new version before the next one starts.

Not yet upgraded
Running the current version and serving traffic.
Being upgraded
Drained of workloads, then upgraded and checked.
Upgraded
Back in service on the new version.
Service availability
Stays up throughout, as long as each application runs at least two copies.

How we take on a platform

  1. 01

    Onboard

Check the platform's health, versions, access and backups, fix urgent risks, and agree the service levels.

  2. 02

    Monitor

Connect monitoring and alerting to our operations team, with runbooks written for your platform.

  3. 03

    Maintain

Patch, upgrade, renew certificates and tune capacity on an agreed schedule.

  4. 04

    Report and improve

Report each month on incidents, changes and service levels, and work down the risks we find.

What you get

  • A health check and onboarding report
  • Monitoring, alerting and dashboards for every cluster

Questions about operations

Do you offer 24/7 support?

Yes, where you need it. Plans range from business-hours help to 24/7 cover for production incidents, with response times written into the agreement.

Can you support a platform we built ourselves?

Yes. We start with a health check, fix urgent risks and document the platform before we take on support.

Do you need remote access to our clusters?

Usually, through a secure and audited connection that you control. Where policy doesn't allow it, our engineers work on site or alongside your team.

Which platforms do you support?

Red Hat OpenShift, upstream Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS, Azure AKS and Google GKE. For OpenShift we work with Red Hat support under your subscription.
